I am a Chartered Financial Planner and also hold the Certified Financial Planner licence. I am also a “Later Life Accredited Adviser” which is the recognised benchmark of advice skills in the older client market.  The accreditation is given after a rigorous assessment process (on a  5 yearly basis) to individual advisers in recognition of demonstrating best practice, appropriate knowledge and older client care procedures. I have delivered many presentations on this subject both to the public and solicitors. I have also commented on this subject in the financial services trade press. I have over 21 years experience in the profession.

My specialism is in assisting older clients, particularly in relation to care fees funding, inheritance tax planning and providing income in retirement. In the main my skills are in ensuring that capital that has been hard earned is used in the best way possible to help people live the life they desire. This involves understanding client’s objectives as well as helping them to express what they want to achieve. It involves having patience, understanding, empathy and an attention to detail.

I am also a Dementia Friend, and act as a trustee for Age UK Bath & North East Somerset, which allows be to “give something back” to the community.
