Robert Nisbet’s Profile

I am a qualified and experienced social worker, having worked in child & adult protection in both the statutory, independent sector & NHS forensic mental health services. I served as the Health Representative on the Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland Multi Agency Public Protection Panel from 2000 – 2005, and also on their operational management group for the same period.

Prior to redundancy in April 2011 I worked at the Department of Health’s East Midlands Government Office as regional program lead for the MCA/DoLS legislation, as well as the dignity in care and offender health programmes.  I have continued working in championing the rights and dignity of people who require care services. I continue my interest in the promotion of the value base that social work, alongside other professional disciplines aspire to.

I have throughout my career continued as social work practitioner, in addition to managing programmes with a strategic focus on service improvement, risk management, protection of vulnerable persons & user & carers partnering.

A passionate advocate in the promotion of human rights, dignity, protection of vulnerable children & adults & of the importance of the service user’s expertise.
